New for 2014 from EOTech is their Laser Battery Cap and X320 Handheld Thermal Imager.
The Laser Battery Cap is available as a full sight package or as a replacement battery cap for an existing 512 or 552 holographic sights. The 512LBC is red laser only and retails for $285.00 alone or $729.00 for a complete sighting system. The 552LBC incorporates both red laser and IR and retails for $429 alone or $979 as a complete sighting system.
The X320 Handheld Thermal Imager is a compact package that allows the adjustment of the seen image by the turn of a dial and is reasonably priced for Law Enforcement. The X320 retails for $3499.00.
New for 2014, Diamondhead-USA has announced their Diamondhead “T-Brake” Muzzle Brake. The Diamondhead-USA “T-Brake”, which is triangular in shape, was designed specifically to create a greater surface area on the bottom of the brake for the gas to apply downward pressure. This premium-grade muzzle brake is machined out of 4140 steel and will be available in February 2014.
Crye Precision, known for their camo patterns and tactical kit has entered the firearms market for 2014. Crye has developed the Six12 bull-pup design shotgun. This double-action, striker-fire shotgun holds 6 rounds of 12 gauge ammunition in a removable rotating cartridge. The Six12 will also become available as an add-on option for an AR-style rifle and can be used as a breaching option with the 12.5” shotgun barrel with a 10.5” rifle barrel for clearance. Military and Law Enforcement can expect the Six12 to be available in the winter of 2014 with the civilian market to follow.
For 2014, Burris introduced the new AR-1X Prism Sight for fast CQB shooting in competition or tactical environments. Featuring a highly visible reticle suitable for CQB operations, it also provides trajectory compensation out to 600 yards. The illuminated reticle is available in red, green, or black. The black reticle is functional with or without battery power. The AR-1X runs on a single AA battery with a 1,000 hour runtime and is night vision compatible. The AR-1X retail price is to be determined.
Adams Arms has announced their COR (Competition Optic Ready) Rifle for 2014. This AR-style rifle features a 16.5” rifle length ultra-light barrel, a low-mass skeletonized BCG, a Hiperfire 24C competition trigger, and a VooDoo Innovations Jet compensator. As pictured, the COR Rifle can be purchased in a Kryptek camouflage pattern for $140 over MSRP. The COR Rifle retails for $1995.00.
Advanced Armament Company (AAC) has announced the release of their Ranger 3 suppressor for 2014. This 5.56mm suppressor weighs in at 14.5 oz, is 6.25” long, is 1.5” in diameter, and is finished in Cerakote. The Ranger 3 does not require a flash suppressor like the new Brakeout 2.0, instead this suppressor can be attached by a wrench directly to the barrel with 1/2-28 threads. The Ranger 3 retails for $600.
New for 2014 from Black Rain Ordnance is their Model 602 .308 Win precision rifle. The Model 602 features a hexagonal receiver, Shilin barrel blanks available in either threaded or non-threaded (crowned), a Black Rain Ordnance proprietary rear locking 3-lug design, a smooth short action bolt, a crisp 3.5 lbs box housing adjustable trigger that only has two moving parts, features CDI bottom metal and accepts ATI magazines. The Model 602 will offer various stock options, weighs in at under 9 lbs (without optic and ammunition), features a 60 degree throw lever, and is coated with a Titanium Ion Bond. The Model 602 is part of the 600-series of precision rifles that will also offer .223 and .338 models. The Model 602 will retail in the area of $3000.00.
Aero Precision has introduced several new products for 2014. Building off of their successful COP (Continuous Optics Platform) monolithic upper receiver, Aero Precision is now offering a gas piston compatible COP Upper for the AR-15 in carbine and mid-lengths and are in the process of working with Adams Arms to offer a package including the COP and the piston kit. Also available later in 2014 will be a COP Upper in .308.
Springfield Armory has released a new 1911-style 9mm Range Officer handgun for 2014. The Range Officer features a 5” stainless steel match grade barrel, fully adjustable target sights, a 5-6 lbs trigger, and includes 2 9-round magazines. The Range Officer weighs in at 41 oz, is 5.5” in height and 8.6” in length.
New for 2014, Safariland has released the GLS (Grip Locking System) Holster. The GLS is held closer to the body than the ALS system holsters due to the release mechanism being positioned for the use of the middle finger in lieu of the thumb. The GLS features a suede lining and is available for Glock in 9mm/.40, Smith & Wesson M&P compact and Shield, Springfield Armory XDS, and are working on additional models.
