Aero Precision (AP), who has blown up in the innovation and expansion departments is taking a step in another direction. The wallet-friendly direction. AP announced today the release of their AC-15, a complete rifle that is competitively priced at $699 and attractively available for just about anyone who wants to start out in the AR-15 market without breaking the bank.
Though not “high-end” feature rich, the AC-15 will start you out where you want to be with a complete rifle and parts can be upgraded as you go and when you figure out what you actually need to upgrade as your shooting style evolves.
The AC-15 features:
Gen 2 Aero Precision Lower Receiver with Flared Magwell and Upper Tension Screw
Aero Precision has designed and have now released their AR15 Gen 2 Lower Receivers.
The Gen 2 lowers feature a nylon tipped upper tension screw that will allow the user to fine tune the fit of the two receivers. The tension set screw is inserted in the grip tang of the lower and will provide a tight fit with any standard AR15 upper.
The Gen 2 lowers also feature an increased magwell flare to allow for easier insertion of magazines while providing a sleeker look.
Though Aero Precision usually has a very wide variety of color finish options, the Gen 2 lower will initially only come in anodized black.
Currently these features are only available in the AR15 standard lower receivers, though will be available in other configurations in the near future.
Aero Precision has released a new special edition 7075-T6 forged aluminum lower receiver, commemorating the Second Amendment. This lower is matte black hard-coat anodized and features an attractive 2A logo on the right side of the magazine well. The rear take-down pin detent hole is threaded for a 4-40 set screw to keep the install of the end plate and buffer tube “flying detent” free. The 2A lower receiver will work with all standard AR-15 parts, accessories, and magazines.
Aero Precision has introduced several new products for 2014. Building off of their successful COP (Continuous Optics Platform) monolithic upper receiver, Aero Precision is now offering a gas piston compatible COP Upper for the AR-15 in carbine and mid-lengths and are in the process of working with Adams Arms to offer a package including the COP and the piston kit. Also available later in 2014 will be a COP Upper in .308.
